What is Developmental Disability?
As defined by state legislature (RS 28:451.1-28:455.2), a developmental disability is a severe or chronic intellectual and/or physical condition that first appears before the age of 22 years, is likely to continue indefinitely, and causes substantial limitations for the life of the individual. ***The limitation cannot be attributed solely to mental illness.
