Rochelle Head-Dunham, M.D., FAPA, Medical Director, Louisiana Office for Addictive Disorders requested that we post the following information about critical job vacancies in the New Orleans Area.

The Metropolitan Human Services District (MHSD) post hurricane has tremendously suffered in its ability to provide adequate addiction services to the Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard
regional areas, due largely to loss in numbers of trained staff. Whereas the Orleans clinic alone operated with a staff of nearly 50, more than 20% of that number remain employed.

The following are needed:

• Licensed Addiction Counselors: Minimum of 30 needed (Services: (1) Management level clinician; triage, evaluation services alone & evaluation and treatment providers)

• Registered and Certified Addiction Counselors: Minimum of 5 needed (assist with evaluations and treatment)

• Counselors in Training: Minimum of 8 needed (assist with evaluation, treatment and recovery support services/case management).
