Please be advised that due Hurricane Gustav we are currently on EMERGENCY ALERT STATUS.
Emergency Alert Status means that a threat exists and that preparations should be underway to respond if necessary.
These are the personal activities that should be taking place:
- Finalize your personal emergency response plans
- Discuss the plans with your family.
- Be sure to review your role and responsibilities in an emergency with your family.
- Assemble your Personal Disaster Kit with a 72-hour supply of the following items to help ensure your comfort in case you are required to work 8 or 12-hour shifts during the disaster:
__ State ID badge
__ Personal medication
__ Clothing to include a sweater or light jacket
__ Toiletries
__ Snacks
__ Bedding to include a pillow
__ Cell phone and charger
__ Watch
__ Alarm clock
__ Reading material
__ CD player or radio with earphones, adapter and batteries
__ Eyeglasses
__ Spices for flavoring food
__ Telephone numbers of key personnel and agencies
__ No valuables
- Update your contact information, provide it to your supervisor and obtain your supervisor’s contact information. It is your responsibility to stay in touch with your supervisor.
- The MHSD 800 phone number (866-647-9846), and MHSD Website: www.mhsdla.org are activated during an emergency and are to be used for reporting in on a daily basis and for obtaining information.
- Check with your supervisor for any emergency response work assignments.
